Weak feet are often sore feet, they can also affect your balance/stability and can also lead to foot deformations.
We know there are lots of foot exercises you can do to strengthen your feet, but did you know that simply changing your shoes to a more minimalist type of shoe can also strengthen your feet.
In this video I share two studies that have shown that simply changing your shoes to a more minimalist type of shoe can help strength your feet.
Wearing minimalist shoes can be a little controversial, but if you are wanting to get stronger more functional feet, slowly transitioning to more minimalist types of shoes may be one way of achieving it.
NOTE: If you are wanting to try this, it’s important to make sure you don’t just jump straight from a supportive shoe to a minimalist type of shoe without this transition period. Also check with your health professional if you are unsure if this is right for you.
Now if you did a combination of wearing minimalist type shoes, as well as doing some foot exercises, I think you would be in a pretty good spot.
