Acute Pain & Injury Care
I know back, neck, shoulder and hip pain from an accident or injury can really inhibit your life, we take uninhibited movement for granted until we can’t. When this happens, it is very important to seek out medical advice as soon as possible.
Elevate Chiropractic and I are a Registered ACC Provider and require no referral from your GP. If you already have an existing ACC claim for your injury, bring this information along to your first appointment. But if you don’t have a pre-existing claim, I can help you start a new claim, just bring along with you details of the injury, when and where it happened and what happened leading up to the injury. |
What to expect at the initial consultationNot sure what to expect when you come to see us for the first time for an ACC Claim? Here is a short video showing exactly what you can expect during your first visit.
Your initial consultation will be for up to 45 minutes. There will be some paperwork to complete before your consultation that I will help you with. We need to find out what happened and other important information regarding the injury and any other issues. |

After that we will do a full examination which will include range of motion tests, neurological tests (like balance or reflexes – sorry no brain scans required), orthopaedic testing, posture analysis and joint function. We may also refer you for x-rays depending on the type of injury. This will give me all the information I need to identify the problem and help build you a specific treatment plan. If it is safe to do so, we may do some adjustments during this initial visit.
From there we will then arrange with you a follow-up appointment, usually 30 minutes long, in a few days to check your recovery progress, go through the findings from the initial consultation and take you through your specific treatment plan to get you back on track.
