My 10 week Summer Body challenge

​I have always said that I practice what I preach, and I do, most of the time.  I aim to exercise regularly, stretch and look after my body.  My diet is okay, but could be a lot better. I definitely eat more ‘bad’ stuff than I should. Recently, I saw a 10 week summer body challenge advertised and thought this will be a great opportunity to be a bit more diligent with my exercise and diet. Continue reading to see what program I am doing and the 'before' photos.
As with most of these challenges it will be easy to start and then not finish.  I bet the thoughts “no-one will know, so what will it matter if I give up half way through” are a common occurrence with fitness or health goals. To try and reduce the chance of this happening with me, I have decided to post a blog with my before photos and then I can follow up when I finish and see what I will be able to achieve in 10 weeks.

I have never posted photos before, but hopefully it will be good motivation to carry it through to the end.  I will have some challenges, namely the birth of our second child in 3 weeks’ time, but hopefully the lack of sleep and reduced free time will not affect the results too much.

This 10 week challenge consists of following an exercise program as well as a healthy eating plan.  I don’t use the term diet, but basically it is about clean eating (cutting out processed food and sugar).  So far, the food has been great.  I wonder how my body will react with cutting out a lot of the sugar and processed food?

For more information on the program I am following you can visit www.therobardsmethod.com. There are tons of similar programs out there, but this is one that works for me. The reason I like this program is that it uses Olympic rings, a pull up bar, a band and that is all.  I don't have rings at home but have a TRX so I am using that instead.  As there is no other equipment, I can do it all at home which is very helpful. 

I will keep you posted on my progress.  I am sure my body will thank me for it :)
