These 3 'satellites" are your eyes, your inner ear and your proprioceptive system (this is the information all of the muscles, joints and soft tissue sends to the brain telling it where all of your bits and pieces are in space).
Proprioception is like our 6th sense. For example, if we are in a pitch black room, we can't see, smell, touch or taste anything, yet we still know where are arms and legs etc are. This is proprioception.
Over the last month on my social media channels I have been talking about balance and how you can go about improving it.
It's really important to remember that balance is a skill, and like any skill, your balance can be improved with practice.
I wanted to share two of my favourite videos that I have made.
The first one is 4 of my favourite balance tools you can use to help improve your balance. The second one is how you can use what I call the 'Butterfly Touch" to improve your balance.
To watch the videos, simply click on the images below.
P.S. To watch the other videos I made check out my Facebook or Instagram pages.
P.P.S. You don't have to use fancy tools to improve your balance. Simply changing your foot position, opening or closing your eyes and moving your head around is more than enough to challenge your balance system and help improve it. Stay tuned for more information on this.
